Everything a range cooker has to offer

If you’re in the market for a new cooker, whether your old one is due for replacement, or you’re designing a new kitchen, then you’ve probably come across range cookers as an option. These popular appliances are a speciality for Leisure, and are designed for people who want the best in terms of cooking performance and kitchen aesthetics. But what can a range cooker do? How does it look different to other cookers? Let’s take a look at all of the things they have to offer.

    Large Capacity Range Cookers

    Large Capacity Range Cookers

Perhaps the biggest attraction of a range cooker is that they’re designed to have a large and flexible cooking capacity, which means that you can prepare food for large families, dinner parties and more, all with relative ease.

The smallest range cookers (90cm width) usually have at least two good sized ovens as well as a grill and five burners on the hob. Larger variants can have significantly more space, with an extra compartment that can be used as either an oven or for storing pots, pans and baking trays. This is especially useful for when you’re preparing multiple dishes at once that require different cooking temperatures, or you need to keep certain dishes warm whilst serving. It also means that despite having plenty of capacity, you can easily and efficiently cook for just one or two.

In addition to the oven space, range cookers also come with built-in hobs, ranging from five to seven burners. This gives good flexibility to those who require a lot of space for keeping pots on the boil, or pans frying. Woks are easy to use too thanks to the extra large burners, and some range cookers come with a griddle plate, which is a healthier alternative to frying food. Freestanding Range Cookers

    Freestanding Range Cookers

Range cookers are always freestanding, which means you don’t need to think about integrating them into the worktop or cupboards. They’re entirely self contained, and can be removed and installed elsewhere, which is ideal if you’d like to take yours with you when you move home. There are three standard widths, ranging from 90cm to 110cm, and are generally straightforward to integrate into most kitchens, being a standard 60cm in depth.

    High Quality Range Cookers

Quality is an important part of what makes a range cooker a good option for those looking for a premium addition to their kitchen. High grade materials and excellent standards of construction are the norm. This often includes things like robust metal knobs and handles.
